Early August

It's hard to believe it's already August, which in Ireland is the first month of autumn. The year is flying past and the weather has taken an autumny turn in the last few days. It's cool and  raining for the evening here, and was windy all day (Bank holiday, 5th August). Yesterday also had a good lot of rain and sun.

1st August

After noticing that all the Sunflowers are facing the fence I did some research and discovered that they will follow the sun all day when younger, but usually once the flower develops they face East to warm up quicker and attract up to 5 times more pollinators.

I just noticed that I have two different types of large Willowherb down the garden.

The woodland area is very overgrown and needs some trimming.

Grass cleared from around the Spindle tree.

2nd August

Meadowsweet for cordial

I went looking for a pallet. There are more under here.
